‘Cobwebs, candles, Victorian funeral traditions will once again be on display this Halloween Season’
LASALLE, IL — October 22nd-24th, from 5-9pm, The Hegeler Carus Mansion will host their popular “The Mansion is NOT Haunted” Tour, where the macabre aspects of death in the Victorian era will come back to life in a fully immersive experience!
Guests can expect a spooky atmosphere and bone-chilling facts about Victorian life as they move through the Main Level of the Mansion, led by costumed guides who will entangle you in webs of traditions and superstitions unique to the Gilded Age. Was being buried alive a real cause of fear? And who might you find lurking about in a Victorian cemetery?
New to the lineup this year is “The Upper Floor Lore” Tour. This new adventure digs deeper and looks at the more curious tales of death in the Victorian era while traveling not only to the Main Level, but also to the Second Level, Attics and Cupola at the top of the Mansion. Beware! This tour only takes place at 6pm on October 22nd-24th.
Finishing out the Halloween Season is the “Black and White Movie Night” on October 30th. Sit back, relax, and watch a classic black and white movie at the Mansion while enjoying a nostalgic TV tray dinner from our sponsors, Seattle Sutton’s Healthy Eating. Event Dates and Times
