Donations Complete Camilla’s Bedroom Exhibit
‘Ribbon Cutting held for donation of historic bedroom set and rug for Camilla’s Bedroom exhibit’
LASALLE, IL — The Hegeler Carus Mansion formally marked the completion of Camilla’s Bedroom exhibit by hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday, August 6th, in Camilla’s Bedroom on the second floor of the Mansion.
With the donation of the historic bedroom set and rug for Camilla’s Bedroom, this exhibit has been completed. The project was made possible through generous donations from the Ford Family of Tonica (Historic Bedroom Set) and Tim Anderson (Historic Rug).
“It is incredible to see the outpouring of support for the Mansion through these generous donations,” says Laura Walker, Executive Director. “The donations of these historic items are so greatly appreciated and allows us to continue the development of tours and programming at the Mansion.”
Following a recognition of the named donors, the ribbon was cut, and Camilla’s Bedroom was opened to view the historic bedroom set and rug.
Camilla Weisbach Hegeler, Edward C. Hegeler’s wife was the matriarch of the Hegeler Family. Expanded Tours, including the viewing of Camilla’s Bedroom, resume on September 25, 2025. To see this new exhibit, and to learn more about Camilla, book your tour online at hegelercarus.org.
