Hegeler Carus Mansion Gears Up for Inaugural Fundraising Gala

‘2026 Gala: Biergarten and Steampunk Fashion Show’
La Salle, IL: The Hegeler Carus Mansion commemorates 150 years since the completion of this historic landmark. To honor this milestone, the Mansion will host its inaugural fundraising Gala: Biergarten & Steampunk Fashion Show, on September 19th from 6-9pm under the beautiful tree canopy in the Grove at the Mansion.
This event combines the German roots of the Mansion’s original inhabitants with contemporary music and style, bringing together Victorian elegance and steampunk artistry. It marks the beginning of a renewed commitment to preservation and will help launch future capital efforts dedicated to restoring and caring for the Mansion for generations to come. Tickets are $150 per person (Early Bird Tickets before June 1, 2026, are only $125). A table for 10 is available for $1200 (Early Bird purchase of a table is only $1,000).

• A custom branded whiskey by Star Union Spirits (also for purchase-Mansion receives a portion of the proceeds)

• Live contemporary music from the Gazebo by Manderley Strings
• National Steampunk Fashion Show Competition with juror, textile artist Jane Case Vickers
• Live auction, emceed by WGN’s John Williams, benefiting the Mansion (silent auction as well)
• Special outdoor sculptures curtesy of Lockport, IL with Steampunk Abraham Lincoln and Rocket
The Hegeler Carus Mansion, a National Historic Landmark, is one of Illinois’ most significant architectural treasures, recently designated one of the 150 great places in Illinois by the Council of American Institute of Architects. Preservation requires ongoing care, thoughtful restoration, and community support.
Proceeds from the 2026 Gala: Biergarten & Steampunk Fashion Show directly support the long-term stewardship of the Mansion, ensuring its stories, craftsmanship, and cultural importance remain accessible for future generations.
